Nurse Practitioner, an advanced practice degree for primary care providers who complete master’s-level training and board certification and who practice medicine independently. Related degrees include ANP (Adult Nurse Practitioner), FNP (Family Nurse Practitioner), WHNP (Women's Health Nurse Practitioner), and APNP (Advance Practice Nurse Practitioner).
I believe deeply in creating a space for evidence-based and holistic care for everyone. This can mean that we collaborate on health promotion and disease prevention, that we work together to build and maintain sustainable wellness habits, or that we parse the complexity of your individual needs and make chronic illness feel more manageable. I’m also experienced in the management and coordination of complex chronic disease, in providing whole-person gender affirming care, treating sexual health concerns, and menopause. As a gay healthcare provider, I’m especially committed to caring for people who have felt out of place in traditional medical spaces. I recently completed a year-long Contemplative Medicine Fellowship with the New York Zen Center, which greatly informs my practice and helps me to center compassionate care for all living beings.
How I stay healthy and happy
Practices that enrich my clinical perspective and personal wellbeing include reading literary fiction and poetry, hiking/walking, Zazen, listening to classical music, practicing yoga, and playing ice hockey.
