Physician Assistant, an advanced practice degree for primary care providers who undergo extensive practical training and board certification, and are licensed to practice medicine including the full range of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
Hi! My name is Thevia. I have been a PA since 2007 with most of my clinical experience in Hospital Medicine and Urgent Care. I enjoy meeting new people and being exposed to different cultures. I am very passionate about patient education and improving health literacy to ensure that my patients feel empowered and have the knowledge to make informed decisions and to also share in clinical decision making. Being aware of different cultural norms, customs, and values brings a more humanistic approach to how I practice medicine. It has enabled me to better understand my patients, connect with them and effectively communicate with them. I find patients are more comfortable when they feel seen and heard by the medical community, which leads to more compliance and healthier patient populations.
How I stay healthy and happy
I love spending time with my family, friends, and doing pilates.
