Sharon Zhao, DO
Fairfax
Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, or DOs, are fully licensed and board-certified physicians who practice in all areas of medicine. DOs emphasize a whole-person approach to treatment and receive extra training in the musculoskeletal system called osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT). DOs at One Medical typically practice in the field of family medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, or internal medicine, and may also integrate OMT.
I believe that creating an open and welcoming environment where every patient feels heard and respected is the foundation of primary care. My approach to care is holistic, focusing on both physical and emotional wellbeing to support the whole person. I strive to meet each person where they are, working together to set realistic goals and achieve better health at every stage of life. My goal is to build strong, trusting relationships and empower my patients to take charge of their health in a way that fits their unique needs and circumstances. I practice full spectrum primary care and have specific interests in women's health, mental health and lifestyle medicine.
How I stay healthy and happy
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, whether we’re sharing a meal or creating a new adventure together. I also enjoy finding new recipes to try in the kitchen, getting lost in a good book, traveling and exploring other cultures, and making the most of nature through hiking, running and other outdoor activities.
