Paul Klein, PsyD
San Francisco
I work with adults and older adults using a psychodynamic focus to strengthen internal resources to independently address stressors on their own. I also use cognitive behavioral modalities with patients in early recovery from substance abuse and some co-occurring psychological disorders. I approach people with interest, compassion and precision to support them in their journey toward greater awareness and understanding of patterns of emotion, thought, and beliefs. This process grants inner peace, deeper self-awareness, increased personal effectiveness and meaningful change in themselves and in their relationships. I enjoy poetry, nature, music and spending time with my wife, friends and dog.
How I stay healthy and happy
I like to read, word games, watch sunsets, interact with my wife with speech and without it (and dog, & friends). Feel the love. Forgive mistakes and learn. Quiet/alone time in nature all around me. Night sky.
