About Nora
When deciding on her post-graduate path, Nora Nickerson felt an affinity for the family nurse practitioner program because she knew she would be caring for individuals across their lifetimes. “I have never regretted that decision,” she says. “I have seen the many dichotomous changes that occur throughout life, both beautiful and sad.” She believes One Medical Group has a uniquely progressive and positive vision for America’s health care system, and she describes this vision as patient-centered with an innovative approach to problem solving. As a health care provider, Nora sees herself as a knowledgeable guide, and asks patients to share in the decision-making process so that she can collaborate with them to devise health plans that are therapeutically sound and satisfying. Nora has extensive experience in women’s health and finds the various aspects of care across the life span very interesting. To stay healthy, Nora eats a mostly vegetarian diet and practices yoga daily. She also runs long distances on trails and hills (sometimes with her adorable Australian shepherd, Haley!) four to five days a week, which she believes keeps her both physically and psychologically fit. In her spare time, Nora loves reading and writing poetry and creating hand-bound art books. Nora earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at California State University, Dominguez Hills, and her master’s degree in the family nurse practitioner program at UCLA. She is ANCC-certified.
