About Melissa
Melissa practices mindfulness with her patients, because she feels it's incredibly important to always be present and truly focused on people while evaluating them. A former high-school biology teacher, she brings that education background into her practice to help patients truly understand their health situation and options. Her exam room is a judgment-free, open-minded zone, and she wants her patients to feel like they can talk to her about anything without feeling judged.
To stay healthy, Melissa enjoys hiking and swimming. In her free time, she loves all types of music, especially live music and music festivals, and is learning guitar. She also volunteers as the medical director for a nonprofit organization that operates an orphanage in Haiti. Melissa earned master's degrees in both public health and health science from George Washington University. She's board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
