Mark Covington, PhD
San Francisco
I’ve served in various roles, as a therapist, supervisor researcher, and adjunct professor. I have experience in providing addiction counseling, counseling for anxiety and depression, PTSD, and mood disorders, conducting assessments, group therapy, and case management. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT) -- specifically, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) in practice. I believe that people are doing the best that they can with the skills they have and finding more flexibility in their lives is pertinent to the process in psychotherapy, and to live more holistically.
How I stay healthy and happy
I love listening to music, podcasts, and candles. I also enjoy running and utilize mindfulness when I can to enjoy the present moment that is life.
