About Kwan
As a family physician, Kwan values trusting, continuous relationships with his patients and their families to get to know them beyond just their symptoms or health conditions. Throughout his career, he’s had the honor of caring for pregnant women (including attending hospital births), children from newborns to adolescents, as well as their parents and grandparents throughout every stage of their lives. He takes a patient-centered, nonjudgmental approach that promotes healthier behaviors in nutrition, exercise, sleep, tobacco/alcohol/drug use, and sexual health to help people prevent chronic disease and enjoy better long-term health.

To stay healthy and happy, Kwan loves playing basketball every day and enjoys a variety of other sports, including baseball, football, and tennis. He also enjoys cooking healthy meals for his family, playing board games with his son, trying new restaurants with friends, hiking/geocaching around the Bay Area, and following various social justice movements that give him hope for our political and ecological future. Kwan earned his medical degree at the Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health before completing his residency at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center. He’s board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
