Jose Maria
New York
With more than 22 years in healthcare, I am deeply committed to providing compassionate, personalized care to every patient. My journey began in Emergency Medical Services, where I discovered a passion for helping others in moments of need. After years as an emergency department nurse, I transitioned to primary care as a nurse practitioner, focusing on prevention, wellness, and long-term relationships with patients. Drawing on experience from the front lines of emergency medicine to everyday family health, I truly believe in listening first, treating each person as a partner in their care, and promoting health through trust and education.
How I stay healthy and happy
Staying happy and healthy is a daily priority for me. I focus on nourishing my body with balanced meals and maintaining strength through regular at-home workouts. I also practice self-awareness to make thoughtful, risk-avoidant choices that support my long-term well-being. My happiness is deeply rooted in time spent with my three children—whether we’re sharing family events, enjoying everyday moments, or making memories together. I also value connecting with friends through group outings and shared experiences that bring laughter and balance to life. These practices keep me grounded, energized, and grateful for the people and routines that sustain me.
