Bandana Risal, MSN, NP
Emeryville
Nurse Practitioner, an advanced practice degree for primary care providers who complete master’s-level training and board certification and who practice medicine independently. Related degrees include ANP (Adult Nurse Practitioner), FNP (Family Nurse Practitioner), WHNP (Women's Health Nurse Practitioner), and APNP (Advance Practice Nurse Practitioner).
I chose medicine because I enjoy listening to my patients and finding solutions based on individual social and cultural backgrounds. Being a primary care provider is an opportunity to connect with my patients and figure out what it means for them to become healthy, to explore their knowledge and provide education. I want my patients to understand that providing care and becoming healthy is a two-way street.
To stay healthy and happy, I love biking, playing violin (learning), swimming, running, and gardening.
