Amanda TeBlunthuis, MD
Austin
Doctor of Medicine, a common medical school degree for physicians. MDs at One Medical typically specialize in family medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics or pediatrics.
Having offered prenatal, birth, and all ages pediatric care over the course of my career, I especially love supporting families and their children from newborns in their first days of life all the way through the teen years. Other particular areas of interest include family planning and contraception (including demystifying and de-stressing IUD and Nexplanon placements), menopause care, preventative care, strength training, chronic disease management, and geriatrics. My core interest is in creating a holistic, inclusive, respectful health care experience for people of all backgrounds, with a special focus on gender diversity, women's healthcare, weight-inclusive medicine, and trauma-informed care, as well as understanding systemic oppression and social circumstances within and outside of medical settings that influence health outcomes. My very favorite encounters are those in which patients come in with anxiety about medical interactions but then leave my office feeling at ease, supported, and empowered to work towards their own health goals. My areas of expertise include pediatrics (0-18 years), LGBTQ+ health including medical gender health care, sexual and reproductive health including IUD and Nexplanon placement and PrEP, women's health including menopause care, chronic condition management, and preventative health.
To stay healthy and happy, I love hiking, running around with my energetic toddler, making and eating good food, and getting out to live music.
