One Medical to Launch in its Ninth Market, Expanding Innovative Primary Care Model to San Diego County
Convenient medical offices and digital health services to be available in early 2019, delivering high value care to consumers and employers.
SAN DIEGO, July 24, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- One Medical, the largest independently held primary care practice in the nation on a mission to transform health care, announced it will be further expanding its footprint, bringing its unique brand of intelligent primary care to San Diego County. As part of the new market launch, One Medical also announced a new relationship with UC San Diego Health, one of the nation’s premier academic medical centers, to more seamlessly coordinate primary and specialty care and better serve consumers and employers.
Three new One Medical offices will be opened in San Diego in early 2019 to offer easy access and convenience to a new community of people. Members in San Diego will have 24/7 instantaneous access to One Medical’s premier providers and support staff through its app-based video visits, messaging and voice options.
With the addition of San Diego, One Medical will be providing care in nine metropolitan markets across seven states. The brand serves over 6,000 employer brands who rely on One Medical to bring an elevated health experience and value-based care to their employees through near-site and on-site care.
“We look forward to bringing our mission of transforming health care to San Diego, improving health and wellbeing, delivering a premier care experience and supporting the needs of members and employers for high-value care. Our relationship with UC San Diego, one of the nation’s premier academic medical centers, will support the highest level of coordination across primary and specialty care, allowing us to further support consumers to navigate the complexities of healthcare delivery,” said One Medical CEO Amir Dan Rubin.
“UC San Diego Health and One Medical will collaborate to improve the primary care patient experience in San Diego by delivering high-quality coordinated care to local patients,” said Patty Maysent, CEO of UC San Diego Health. “The relationship with One Medical complements our larger strategy of helping the community get timely, convenient access to primary and specialty care resources close to home.”
This is the latest announcement as One Medical continues to aggressively scale, having announced its expansion to Seattle last year. The company offers a completely reimagined alternative to traditional primary care, incorporating virtual medical care, in-app messaging capabilities, mental health and other services. Through its custom EHR system built in-house, One Medical’s prioritization of a patient-first experience has made it a healthcare favorite among consumers, employers and doctors. Its offices are conveniently located where people work, shop and live, and with digital services offering support and care in real-time, One Medical delivers frictionless service and the highest level of quality care. “Our relationship with our members is at the core of all we do at One Medical. Our model is built from the ground up to uniquely meet the needs of consumers and employers,” added Rubin.
