Our newest office is officially open! Today, we began caring for patients — including pediatric patients! — on Union Street in San Francisco’s Cow Hollow neighborhood. It’s our fourth office offering pediatrics in the Bay Area, and our 60th office overall. Whether you’ve been a One Medical member for a while, or are checking us out for the first time, we want you to get to know your provider. Meet Maria Bhaijee, MD, and William Lu, MD, two of the primary care providers in our Cow Hollow office.
Meet One Medical Union Street’s Providers
Name: Maria Bhaijee, MD
How long have you been with One Medical? Two months and loving it so far!
How long have you lived in the area? Seven years — I did my pediatric training at UCSF and then was working at a small private practice in Marin before joining One Medical.
Why do you enjoy working for One Medical? The attention to detail makes both the patient and provider experience as good as it can possibly be — it is amazing. The support staff makes all of our lives so much easier, too!
Why is One Medical a great fit for the Cow Hollow? One Medical is dedicated to providing patient-centered care in an environment that is comfortable, friendly, and stylish. The Cow Hollow office personifies all these qualities. When you walk into the office, you feel like you’re in a spa and, being in the middle of the Cow Hollow, you can go get a detox smoothie after your visit if you want.
What areas of healthcare are you most passionate about? I’m most passionate about lifestyle changes and integrative medicine and how this can contribute to significantly positive health outcomes.
What are your favorite neighborhood spots? I’m looking forward to exploring the Cow Hollow and figuring that out. There is a Sugarfina right next to the office, so I know where I’ll be getting my sweet fix.
Name: William Lu, MD
How long have you been with One Medical? One month
How long have you lived in the area? I have called Cupertino home for 18 years, but I am brand new to San Francisco!
Why do you enjoy working for One Medical? The culture is the best part. Everyone you meet — from the administrative team to the phlebotomists to other providers — has the patients’ best interests at heart. One Medical has crafted a unique and innovative practice that has changed the patient experience in a positive way. I enjoy spending more time with my patients, getting to know them and building great relationships.
Why is One Medical a great fit for the Cow Hollow? The Cow Hollow area is a vibrant, diverse, and chic neighborhood. I see a lot of the same qualities in One Medical — we fit right in!
What areas of healthcare are you most passionate about? I am passionate about preventive care and helping make positive lifestyle changes. I enjoy being a guide in health care and helping my patients make the best medical decisions for them and their families.
What’s one of your favorite patient stories? A patient recently told me that he had not had a primary care provider in many many years due to not being able to click with anyone in particular. After our visit together, he said he finally found one!
What are your favorite neighborhood spots? I have lots of guilty pleasures around here, but getting freshly made pasta at Capannina or garlic noodles at Chubby Noodle are my favorites.
What do you do for fun in the Cow Hollow? I love trying new restaurants and seeing all the neat shops up and down Union Street.
How do you stay healthy in the Cow Hollow? You’ll find me at the local gym lifting weights or on my road bike.
Our Union Street office is conveniently located on one of the Cow Hollow’s main streets, easily accessible via the 41 and 45 Muni lines. For those driving, a parking garage is located a block away from the office, and we have plenty of room for you to park your stroller in the office if you’re bringing your little ones along. Some of the other health and wellness-minded companies nearby include Equinox, SoulCycle, Yoga Flow SF, Lucy Activewear, and Lululemon. See you soon!
