The Opportunity

As we continue to transform healthcare for all, we are looking for a Director, M&A that will lead and participate in the financial and tax due diligence, representing the Finance Team.  You will ensure completion of all assigned M&A related deliverables throughout all phases. As a visible leader you will be responsible for supporting the purchase accounting process and integration for acquisitions to help ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, as well as adherence to the company’s accounting policies. Reporting to the VP Controller you will work closely with members of the finance organization and other business divisions to manage the post-merger integration tasks (financials reporting, Treasury, Accounting, system conversion, Tax, etc.).

You will engage in all mergers and be responsible for ensuring that the integration efforts are organized. You will own the tactical integration, coordination and communication of tasks associated with a merger integration plan. You will also support other technical and operational accounting functions and special projects, as needed.  With a passion for collaboration you will build solid relationships with team members; you will foster a productive teamwork environment, lead teams to generate a vision, leverage diverse views, and help develop and grow team members throughout the course of every engagement.

What you'll likely work on:

  • Assists with merger and acquisition (M&A) activities, including financial and tax due diligence.
  • Works closely with leadership in developing, defining and executing integration plans, and manages all post-merger integration tasks.
  • Influences, directs and manages a directly staffed and matrixed integration team though all transition activities required during the transition period.
  • Documents, researches and resolves technical accounting issues in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Supports the month end/quarter end close process, including review of financial reports, variance analysis, reconciliations and journal entries, as needed.
  • Supports operational Accounting functions and assists with and/or leads multiple projects across the Finance organization and with other key business partners.


What you’ll need:

  • You will have 11 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience
  • Must be a CPA 
  • Possesses strong working knowledge of M&A transaction life cycle, with a focus on the integration and separation components of the life cycle
  • Possesses a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and end-to-end finance and accounting business processes and is able to lead cross-functionally and collaboratively to achieve the right outcomes.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Builds solid collaborative relationships, both internally and externally and interacts effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution and change management, and demonstrates ability to drive decision making at senior leadership levels of the organization
  • Strong problem solving skills - uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
