Same-day availability for sick visits and urgent concerns
Online appointment scheduling and direct email access to your child’s provider
24/7 access to our Virtual Medical Team for immediate questions and after-hours care
We get it – we're parents too. We've struggled to get an appointment when our kid's school calls in the middle of the day, or when camp forms are due and we forgot to schedule ahead. We've longed to email with our pediatrician and be able to make appointments online, instead of waiting on hold with the front desk. We've wished we could call someone we trust at 3am when our baby is sick.
One Medical takes the hassle out of pediatric care. We offer same-day appointments, online appointment scheduling, direct email access to your doctor, and 24/7 virtual care so you can always get help. Our one-of-a-kind family practice office has an indoor and outdoor waiting area, family-friendly exam rooms, a Nurture Room for breastfeeding and newborn care, and plenty of space for stroller parking. In addition, we have dedicated parking lots at our Oakland and San Rafael offices, and convenient parking in the garage under our Laurel Heights office (entrance on Locust). We want to make sure that every aspect of your experience, including getting to the office, is easy and worry-free.
Pediatric patients can visit our Laurel Heights office, located at 3490 California Street, on the corner of Locust Street, our Oakland office, located at 3850 Grand Avenue, or our San Rafael office, located at 1004 Northgate Drive.
To register your child for One Medical membership, call 415-523-6317 or contact our pediatric care team by completing the form to the right and a member of our team will be in touch shortly.
We understand that children don’t always like going to the doctor. That’s why our approach to pediatrics removes the stigma associated with a doctor’s office visit. We’ve thoughtfully designed both the physical space and the visit experience, and have given our providers the time and tools to connect with your children.
We want your kids to be comfortable and engaged with their health so that we can help them grow into thriving adults. We think your kids can enjoy their trips to the doctor and start a lifelong health partnership.
We’ve built a positive and collaborative wellness home for you and your family. When you walk into our office, you’ll be greeted by one of our friendly team members, who can help you coordinate your family’s health care, including your in-office visits, camp physicals and specialist referrals. You’ll spend your entire visit with a board-certified pediatrician or family doctor who can care for your entire family.
Our providers are eager to build strong and lasting relationships with their patients. They want you to feel comfortable sharing your parenting experiences during visits, emailing them questions, and calling our practice for questions about something as sudden as a fever or as routine as a well check.
We offer same and next-day appointments for when your child needs to be seen soon. We also provide email access directly with your child’s provider, as well as 24/7 phone support from our Virtual Medical Team to help with immediate questions and after-hours support.
Additionally, our on-site lab supports walk-in blood work and immunizations with no appointment needed. It’s just one more way that we’re trying to fit right into your busy schedule.
First, fill out an interest form and a member of our team will follow up with you to register your baby. We’ll collect some basic information during enrollment, but don’t worry if your baby doesn’t have a name yet - we’ll update the chart with any new information after he or she is born.
Within a day after your baby is born, give us a call to book his or her first appointment. The first well visit with your baby’s provider is typically scheduled for three days after your baby leaves the hospital. Remember to budget extra time to get out of the house with a newborn.
To meet our providers, get a more in-depth introduction to our practice, and gather additional information about what to expect during your baby’s first days, consider attending one of our monthly provider meet and greet sessions at our Laurel Heights, Oakland, or San Rafael offices.
In addition to traditional pediatric care and our 24/7 support team, we are also pleased to be able to offer breastfeeding and lactation support at our Laurel Heights office. Our on-staff Lactation Educator is available for 60 minute lactation consulting sessions to help you with a range of feeding solutions including breastfeeding, breast pumping, bottle feeding and weaning. Her personalized approach has been well-received by our families, and her appointments are typically billed through insurance.
Members can schedule lactation consulting appointments by calling our Laurel Heights office at 415-593-1134.
Choosing one provider for the whole family offers greater convenience and a more holistic healthcare experience. Your provider will have an understanding of your family’s health history and values to better treat you and your child. That said, it’s not necessary and you are always able to visit with any of our providers in any of our offices, since all of our providers have access to your secure, electronic medical records.
Membership to One Medical is $149 per year. This fee allows us to provide services above and beyond what insurance provides.
We do not currently offer discounts for families, although this is something we are considering. We are confident that you’ll find the experience worthwhile, but if you are ever unhappy, please let us know and we can refund your membership fee.
We want to make sure we're able to address all of your concerns and want to make your registration process as simple as possible. To help you register your child, please call us at 415-523-6317 or complete the online interest form on this page. A member of our pediatric care team will follow up with you shortly to help register your child and assist with scheduling any appointments.
