"Our approach brings common sense to caring for your family; same day appointments, virtual services, a quick follow up email to your doctor. As a parent myself, these are the touch points that I find most valuable for my family's health and I take pride in sharing them with yours."

Zach Ortiz, MD

We get it – we're parents too. We've struggled to get an appointment when our kid's school calls in the middle of the day, or when camp forms are due and we forgot to schedule ahead. We've longed to email with our pediatrician and be able to make appointments online, instead of waiting on hold with the front desk. We've wished we could call someone we trust at 3am when our baby is sick.

That's why we're removing the stress and hassle out of pediatric care. We offer convenient access so you can always get help: same- and next-day appointments, appointment scheduling from you computer or phone, 24/7 virtual care and the ability to email directly with your provider.

We are conveniently located in the family friendly San Tan Village mall, which also offers an outdoor play area. Parking is easy right by Macy's, and our one-of-a-kind family practice office has a beautiful, spacious waiting area and comfortable exam rooms. We want to make sure that every aspect of your experience, including getting to the office, is easy and worry-free.

Pediatric patients can visit our San Tan Village office, located at 2196 East Williams Field Road in Gilbert, on the north end of the mall. We've rethought everything, so you can get care for your little ones while worrying about the little things.

What is One Medical's approach to pediatric care?

We understand that children don’t always like going to the doctor. That’s why our approach to pediatrics removes the stigma associated with a doctor’s office visit. We’ve thoughtfully designed both the physical space and the visit experience, and have given our providers the time and tools to connect with your children.

We want your kids to be comfortable and engaged with their health so that we can help them grow into thriving adults. We think your kids can enjoy their trips to the doctor and start a lifelong health partnership.

What should I expect from a pediatric visit?

We’ve built a positive and collaborative wellness home for you and your family. When you walk into our office, you’ll be greeted by one of our friendly team members, who can help you coordinate your family’s health care, including your in-office visits, camp physicals and specialist referrals. You’ll spend your entire visit with a family doctor who can care for your entire family.

Our providers are eager to build strong and lasting relationships with their patients. They want you to feel comfortable sharing your parenting experiences during visits, emailing them questions, and calling our practice for questions about something as sudden as a fever or as routine as a well check.

What conveniences are offered at the San Tan Village family offices?

We offer same and next-day appointments for when your child needs to be seen soon. We also provide email access directly with your child’s provider, as well as 24/7 phone support from our Virtual Medical Team to help with immediate questions and after-hours support.

Additionally, our on-site lab supports blood work and immunizations. It’s just one more way that we’re trying to fit right into your busy schedule.

How do I register my child for pediatric care with One Medical before she/he is born?

You can register your child if you're still expecting with our pediatric registration form. We'll collect whatever information you have, but don't worry if your baby doesn't have a name yet - we'll update the chart with any new information after he or she is born.

Within a day after your baby is born, give us a call to book his or her first appointment. The first well visit with your baby’s provider is typically scheduled for three days after your baby leaves the hospital. Remember to budget extra time to get out of the house with a newborn, and please bring any records and hospital discharge information.

What additional support do you have for new parents?

In addition to traditional pediatric care and our 24/7 support team, we are also pleased to be able to offer breastfeeding and lactation support from Maria Morton, PA-C, Certified Lactation Counselor, at our San Tan Village office. We offer 40 minute lactation counseling sessions to help you with a range of feeding solutions including breastfeeding, breast pumping, bottle feeding and weaning. Her personalized approach has been well-received by our families, and her appointments are typically billed through insurance.

Members can schedule lactation consulting appointments by calling our San Tan Village office at 480-237-1395.

Should I see the same provider as my child?

Choosing one provider for the whole family offers greater convenience and a more holistic healthcare experience. Your provider will have an understanding of your family’s health history and values to better treat you and your child. That said, it’s not necessary and you are always able to visit with any of our providers in any of our offices, since all of our providers have access to your secure, electronic medical records.

How much does this cost? Are there family discounts?

Membership to One Medical is $149 per year. This fee allows us to provide services above and beyond what insurance provides.

We do not currently offer discounts for families, although this is something we are considering. We are confident that you’ll find the experience worthwhile, but if you are ever unhappy, please let us know and we can refund your membership fee.
