Your primary care provider knows you best and can manage and treat most women’s health issues without the need for specialist visits
With our mobile app and 24/7 Virtual Medical Team, you can get treatment for common issues like UTIs and yeast infections without even needing an office visit
We are proud to offer same-day and next-day appointments that start on time, as well as easily accessible offices to make seeing a provider easy for you
Our downtown Chicago offices, located in the Loop and Lincoln Park, have a range of women’s health services available in-house, without the need for a specialist. Our primary care team can address many women’s health issues and offer you a deeper understanding of your health within the context of your complete medical history. Our Chicago team is happy to address women’s health concerns, including birth control counseling and prescriptions, cancer screening, sexual health, aging, and pregnancy. Most types of testing can be completed on-site in our lab, without an additional appointment. If a specialist is needed, we’re happy to make a referral.
Our providers can help you with everything from Pap tests to guidance and counseling on birth control, breast cancer screening, and menopause. And of course we work closely with many of the best OB/GYN specialists in the area, should you ever need a referral.
To schedule a Pap test, get tested for STDs, discuss contraception options, ask questions about menopause, or address any other non-pregnancy-related women’s health needs, please book an appointment with your primary care provider. Your primary care provider (PCP) can assess if further care is needed and can refer you to one of our in-house women’s health experts or an outside specialist as necessary.
Please note that IUD insertions and removals need to be booked by a member of our team. Feel free to give us a call at 312-999-5512. Our team is happy to help!
One Medical’s primary care providers are trained to manage many women’s health issues and answer common questions about topics such as preventative care, cancer screening, sexual health, aging, and pregnancy. Moreover, as your PCP, they understand your complete medical history and can approach your care from a broader perspective. And lastly, visiting your PCP is also frequently more cost and time effective than seeing a specialist. Of course, if you need to see a specialist, our providers will ensure that you get connected with the right person.

Ultimately, a family provider has a broad understanding of women’s health needs. Family doctors are trained in both obstetrics and gynecology, they can deliver babies and do most routine gynecological procedures. While most family doctors are not trained in cesarean sections, some may opt to receive additional training in this area.
The big difference is that OB/GYNs are trained in surgery (and are technically surgeons), so they can perform procedures like fibroid and cyst removals.
Absolutely! Feel free to submit a referral request to your provider through your online One Medical account. Your PCP will review your request and, if appropriate, can refer you directly to a specialist, bypassing the additional office visit.
Yes. We strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, and comfortable environment for all patients, regardless of gender and sexual identity. "With a PCP, you build a relationship that may last for years. Your PCP becomes familiar with both your health goals and your health progress. Because your PCP has been tracking your health over time, they are the most likely to recognize early signs of issues ... given your unique health history."
